Nina Bilger is a Seattle-based artist using multiple mediums to explore self concept, sentimentality, gender, and a wide variety of feminist themes.

Through the exploration of childhood objects, this work honors raw sentimentality and all that lies beneath the surface. These physical anchors to who the artist once was, with which she has refused to part time and time again, allow her to reflect on what pieces of herself she may have left behind, and which she has maintained.

Taken in her suburban childhood home, these images honor beloved objects bestowed upon her by doting parents and offer a tangible line through time through which an understanding of self may be refined. By spending time with these objects that were left for her by her past self, she seeks to rediscover things she once knew well: obstinate sentimentality, boundless creative confidence, and relentless curiosity.
