Mack Florence Greene

Born and raised in Seattle Washington where they currently reside. Mack is a visual artist primarily focusing on photography, sculpture, and painting.

Beginning their dive into art at the age of nineteen with painting and sculpture during the Covid-19 lockdown. The transition from painting in 2022 to photography came when examining the works of Daido Moriyama and Imogen Cunningham. Instead of using an image edited with high contrast digitally to be a painting reference it soon became the desired final product on film.

The largest and most important body of work so far for Mack is “Hello, my darling!”. This project documents their grandmother’s life while undergoing home hospice care after a traumatic brain injury. While in Oregon in 2023 shooting this project, Mack was also actively learning how to photograph manually without any aides of autofocus or digital cameras. This work came to a close with the passing of Wanda in 2024. Mack closed this chapter with a confidence behind the camera to capture intimate everyday moments that they try to achieve every day.
